Unfortunately people are more interested in getting a feeling from a blog (or product in general) than anything useful. Once they get that feeling they don’t need to read any further.
It’s a dilemma, should we write in a way that panders to this? Short posts with short sentences and paragraphs, focusing on creating feelings in people (these invariably get the more traffic) or write longer pieces if that is needed?
I’m trying to mix it up. There’s no point in being naive about it. I could point you to some blogs that are huge and every post basically consists of ‘you are a special snow-flake, I think you are awesome, feel good about yourself!’.
It doesn’t really help people, but that’s what they want. Should we give it to them? Maybe as long as we hide the vitamin inside?
